A First half goal by on loan Donal Mcdermott separated the two sides at sunny Saltergate on Saturday. It was the young irishman’s first appearance at the old ground and his first ever league goal. Alovely 40 yard cross field pass by Jack Lester returning from suspension found Mcdermott who chester the ball down and struck a firm drive across Dunn which nestled in the bottom corner. The Spireites had a goal disallowed in the first half when Drew Talbot was adjudged to fouled upon scoring.
The second half Chesterfield coped with the pressure the Cobblers brought forward and the three points were secure.
