Clucas at the double for SpireitesA Sam Clucas double gave Chesterfield a comfortable 3-0 victory over Gillingham in front of the lowest crowd of the season at the Proact Stadium. The visitors never recovered from conceding twice in the opening 12 minutes and Clucas wrapped up a deserved win a minute from time.Gillingham had shut out Bristol City on Saturday but they quickly leaked two goals as Chesterfield opened them up down the flanks.Sam Hird's long pass sent Clucas racing clear down the right in the third minute and he bent a shot across Stuart Nelson from 12 yards. The home side struck again in the 12th minute when Clucas flicked the ball on to Gary Roberts down the left and his low cross was slotted in from eight yards by Jay O'Shea.Gillingham thought they had pulled one back in the 28th minute but Tommy Lee made a brilliant save low to his right to keep out a John Marquis header and it was Chesterfield who looked more likely to score again in the second half. The third arrived in the 89th minute when Clucas and Roberts exchanged passes before Clucas skipped clear to beat Nelson
