Chesterfield have accepted a bid from Sheffield United for top-scorer Jamie Ward, BBC Radio Sheffield understands.

The 22-year-old is expected to hold talks with the Blades within the next 24 hours.

Both clubs have declined to comment but it is believed the fee is around £400,000, with a 15% sell-on clause written into the deal.

Ward, who turned down a move to Barnsley earlier this month, has scored 16 goals this season.

editor: looks like BBC Radio Sheffield have been speaking to Wards agent again rather than the clubs involved...cheeky monkeys.
