ROONEY REJOINS THE POTTERS
Striker Adam Rooney's loan spell with Chesterfield has ended and the player has returned to Stoke City.
The 19 year old Republic of Ireland U21 International, who has been on loan since 31 August 2007, made 24 appearances for the Spireites (11 of which have been on the subs bench) and scored seven goals.
Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson said: "Adam felt he wasn't getting enough regular first team football right now so wanted to return to his parent club during the transfer window so he has the chance of moving elsewhere."
He added: "I am disappointed as he was a valuable member of the squad but we wish him well for the future."
LEVEN BID REJECTED
It is confirmed that Chesterfield has rejected a £100,000 bid from Brighton and Hove Albion for midfielder Peter Leven. A previous bid for £50,000 had been turned down earlier in the week.
