Chesterfield striker Jamie Ward has been called up for Northern Ireland's forthcoming European Championship Qualifier in Israel on Wednesday 6 February 2008.

He is part of a 19 man squad announced by Northern Ireland U21 manager, Roy Millar, for the game.

Northern Ireland currently top the group 9 table on 12 points after six matches.

The two remaining matches in the campaign are away to Israel (06/02/08) and Germany (05/09/08).

The squad has won four of their six campaign games including both away matches - 01.06.2007 v Moldova (A) 1-0; 12.09.2007 v Luxembourg (A) 2-1; 20.11.2007 v Moldova (H) 3-0; and 16.11.2007 v Luxembourg (H) 5-0.

There are four Irish League players included in the squad - Linfield's Jamie Mulgrew and Thomas Stewart, Glentoran's Daryl Fordyce, and Lisburn Distillery's Andrew Waterworth.

Defender Rory McArdle (Rochdale) continues as the squad's leading capped player on 17, closely followed by Linfield's Thomas Stewart on 16.
