Chesterfield boss John Sheridan has doubts over midfielder Derek Niven, who has a head injury.
Midfielder Dwayne Mattis is pushing for a start after fully recovering from a calf injury.
Crewe Alexandra defender Danny Blanchett told BBC Radio Stoke: "We can't wait for this game to come along as we can put the defeat at Macclesfield on Tuesday night behind us.
"We played well in our last home game against Burton, and a good result against Chesterfield could see us kick on again.
"We must take confidence out of the game we played at their place, although we lost a healthy lead."
