Victory on Saturday would put the Spireites on the brink of promotion, with five matches remaining.
However, Sheridan watched the Bulls draw 1-1 at promotion-chasing Port Vale a fortnight ago and knows they are capable of causing his side a few problems.
"We aren`t up yet, there`s still plenty of work to be done and I`m not talking about promotion until it`s done," said Sheridan.
"We face Hereford next and we watched them at Port Vale recently, where they played well and perhaps should have won.
"They are after a few wins to stay in the league and, like every game, we will have to go out and earn the right to play if we want to get a result."
